The talented Stephanie Sheveland!

One of my all time favorite photographers is Stephanie Sheveland!  I think I can speak for a lot of coordinators in Maui when I say we were all very sad when she decided to uproot to San Diego (but are also happy to be graced with her presence from time to time!  Hint hint- she will do the occasional wedding in Maui to get her "Maui fix".)  She has been photographing my family since my daughter's first birthday and hopefully will continue for years to come.  If you are looking for an amazing photographer in the San Diego area check out her site: www.stephaniesheveland.com

Backyard Maui Wedding Featured on Style Me Pretty

When I was approached to do another surprise wedding I was ecstatic.... and to have such a fun and fabulous couple was the icing on the cake!  Michelle Efros and Ian Hollingsworth (rocking drummer for the Throwdowns and the Ryan Robinson Band) were soooo much fun to work with and I just love their style!  Their daughter, Goldie, was going to be turning 1 and in Hawaii, turning 1 is a BIG DEAL!  Guests were flying in from across the country for her big event so they thought, why not surprise everyone and get married at the same time?  A very nice dinner party was planned in the backyard of their beautiful home in Launiupoko.  Panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and a lush waterfall were the backdrop to their surprise wedding.  Ian, also owner of Image-it-Builders, custom built the rustic wooden farm tables and benches for guests to dine on during the week and Pacific Event Group supplied a cozy lounge area and a lot of pink elements (Michelle's favorite color... and mine too!) along with A LOT of pink lighting from Pacific Isle Rentals and, of course, Tuscan style globe lights.  Bella Grace did an amazing job on the florals which were used the next day for Goldie's "Real" Birthday Event (the next day was a "lil monster theme" party so of course we had to add googley eyes to the Gerber Daisies.... check back later for pics).  The legendary, Howard Ahia, mesmerized the guests with his talent in music while guests enjoyed a filet mignon dinner prepared by Cater 2 U.  Guests were in complete shock when Michelle started walking "down the aisle" in her beautiful bridal gown!  It was one of the most emotional weddings I have coordinated and, thank God, Hawaii Video Memories was there to capture it along with the talented Wendy Laurel!  Fun fun fun!  Congrats Michelle and Ian!
